Roses in the backyard

When on our way to clean up Ennis Park with the Gowanus Alliance, Husband and I ran into the current owner of our new house, and he told us we should come to the backyard and see the roses. During our spring inspection, they mentioned that they grew a lot of flowers in the backyard, but it was too early to see anything. This time around, we were pleasantly surprised to see rose bushes of all different colors in full bloom! It’s gorgeous (and a nice relief, because we won’t be able to focus any energy or money in the backyard for years…)

And for the record, it was husband who was mistaking all the plants for weeds and pulling them out in our gardening experiment… which I look at as a precursor to when we begin attempting to grow food and raise our own chickens. (Again, years down the road.)
